Mike Tyson gets custom weed sneakers ahead of Jake Paul fight

Lisbon, Portugal – May 30, 2024 – In an exciting collaboration with Cannabis Now, 8000Kicks and Royal Queen Seeds (RQS) are thrilled to announce the creation of a custom-made pair of WEEDO shoes for legendary boxer Mike Tyson. These unique shoes feature Tyson's iconic tattoo print engraved on the sole and are crafted with an upper made from 100% CBD weed.

Introducing the WEEDO: A Blend of Sustainability and Style

The limited edition WEEDO shoes showcase sustainable materials, including cotton and hemp laces, hemp insoles, and a hemp interior. Originally launched on April 20, 2023, the initial run of 100 pairs sold out quickly. This year, an additional 10 units have been made available for purchase. Each shoe is handcrafted with up to 400 grams of premium CBD weed and takes up to 30 hours to manufacture. An industrial grinder is used to break the weed flower into small pieces, which are then meticulously stitched onto the shoe. To ensure the shoe is vegan-friendly and sustainable, a water-based glue is used to secure the materials together.

A Special Collaboration for a Legend

The WEEDO collaboration with RQS and 8000Kicks was inspired by Eugénio, CEO of Cannabis Now, who invited the two brands to create a custom pair for Mike Tyson ahead of his upcoming fight with Jake Paul. Crafting these shoes was a challenging endeavor, as Tyson's shoe size is a formidable 14 (49/50 in European sizes), which required completely new tooling and molding. The process involved extensive photo analysis and rigorous testing to ensure a perfect fit.

Exclusive Availability

Due to the high cost and labor involved in creating these masterpieces, only 10 additional pairs of WEEDO shoes have been made available for purchase. Each pair is priced at $1,000 and can be exclusively purchased on the 8000Kicks website on a first-come, first-served basis.
