Sustainable shoes are made from eco-friendly, renewable, or recycled materials with minimal impact on the environment. At 8000Kicks, our sustainable shoes for women use hemp and other natural fibers to reduce water use, avoid harmful chemicals, and stay completely vegan.
Is Hemp good for shoes?
Hemp is a fiber that has been used for milenniums. Ancient Egyptians used it to make rope, textiles, fine linen, and sails.
Hemp is a naturally durable fiber that was widely used in textiles and shoes until it was banned in the 70s. Hemp is also naturally anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, breathable and comfortable, which makes it a great option to build footwear.
At 8000Kicks we also made it waterproof by adding a bio based wax coating that repels all liquids from coming in. We have spend years developing this fiber to the point where we can show the world this is the best natural fiber available.
Are all sustainable shoes waterproof?
Not all sustainable shoes for men are waterproof.
Models like the explorers and the crossover boots shoes are waterproof because they were built that way. The outer hemp fabric has a bio wax coating that repells liquids from coming in, as well as a waterproof membrane that keeps liquids out no matter what.
Are sustainable material shoes good?
Yes! Sustainable shoes are not only better for the planet but also durable, comfortable, and stylish. Our hemp-based shoes provide strength, breathability, and long-lasting wear while keeping your footprint low.
Is there a warranty? Are they durable?
Unfortunately we don't have a warranty because shoes are subject to maximum wear and tear. However, from our experiences both our hemp and our soles have performed very well on our "torture" tests and we can confidently say that they are stronger than any branded sneakers in the same price range. We also tested over 10 types of different glues to find a perfect fit that would survive under the harshest conditions.
However, if for some accident or problem our shoes do not perform as expected, please contact us and we can deal with it and issue a replacement pair if necessary.
Can I smoke the shoe?
Do you really want to smoke our shoe? XD
Hemp is the sober cousin of marijuana, which means that it has no psychoactive components, less than 0.3% THC, which means that technically you are definitely not getting high. Now seriously, please note that smoking the shoe is not a good idea and might get you hospitalized.
Can I take this on a flight? Will police dogs come after me?
