I have used the NOMAD and the shoulder bag for two weeks and even brought it as a EDC for a one-week-trip to Portugal. I can really recommend this backpack at this moment. I'll give a detailed review of what I can think of.
The materials are solid and beautiful, especially the rigid exterior in hemp and the inside with yellow velvet feeling. Though the mech net inside felt a little plastic in the start but now I don't mind anymore. The zippers also felt stiff in the start but are now quick and snappy after everyday usage. I choose the beige one and stains and sweat marks haven't been a problem.
The size and expandability are probably the best about this product. It looks so good both in decreased and expandable mode and I could with no fuss use it as personal item at the airplane in slightly compressed mode.
The secret pocket in the back plate feels secure and comfortable at the back while easily fitting my keys, wallet and passport and sometimes even the phone.
I'm a big fan of the organization inside the clamshell and its easy to use it by just opening the zipper in the top once on the go. Combined with the big compartment on the roll top its easy to stay organized.
On the drawback side the backpack is standing a little unstable by its bottom and sometimes fall so the back plate is leaning upward.
I'm also a fan of the hipbelt that is possible to hide in the hip plate while not used, but the chest strap I haven't found a way to detach if I want to.
Also the side straps for compressing the backpack and in my case to hold the shoulder bag in place at the bag tends to loosen up after some hour and needs to be re-pulled to keep the shoulder bag tightly fit outside. Maybe there's a proper way to use it I haven't figured it out yet.
In summary this is a versatile, good looking and reliable backpack and I can also recommend the company who nicely helped me out with the customer support.
I'll probably buy new products from 8K kicks =)
Cheers !
