At 8000Kicks, we believe great products are built by paying attention to how people actually live, move and carry their essentials. The Travel Sling is the result of listening closely to our community and designing around real, everyday habits.
From hundreds of conversations, we identified a clear gap: people wanted a compact crossbody bag that felt effortless to wear, secure to carry and versatile enough to move seamlessly between daily life and travel without unnecessary bulk.
The Travel Sling is our answer. A lightweight crossbody bag made from weatherproof hemp fabric, vegan and responsibly produced, designed for people who value freedom of movement, simplicity and conscious design.
From idea to final product
Through conversations with travelers, commuters and long-time customers, we realized that most crossbody bags suffered from the same issues: uncomfortable carry, unnecessary bulk and materials that simply didn’t hold up to real use.
Based on this insight, we entered an intensive prototyping phase. We tested different sizes, strap configurations, pocket layouts and closure systems. Every adjustment was driven by real-life use: how the sling sits on the body, how quickly you can access essentials and how it performs throughout the day.
The result is the Travel Sling: a compact, weatherproof hemp crossbody bag designed to move naturally with its wearer, durable, versatile and built for everyday life and travel.
