Why We Built the Trekker Wide for Cold, Wet Days

The Trekker Wide brings the same wide toe box philosophy as the Shifter into a fully weatherproof design, keeping your feet comfortable, dry, and warm through cold, wet conditions.

The Shifter was built for everyday miles. The Trekker Wide exists for the days the Shifter wasn't designed for, the cold, wet, genuinely miserable-weather days that a knit sneaker was never going to handle.

Different season, same starting point

We didn't want a second shoe that abandoned everything we'd learned building the Shifter. The Trekker Wide keeps the same foundation, a wide toe box built for how feet actually spread and move, and builds a weatherproof shell on top of it instead of starting from scratch with a narrow last like most winter shoes do.

What weatherproof actually means here

This isn't a shoe that resists a light drizzle and calls it weatherproof. The Trekker Wide is built to handle sustained rain, slush, and the kind of cold, wet commute that ruins a normal sneaker by week two of winter.

Why most winter shoes force a tradeoff

Cold-weather footwear tends to force a choice: bulky and warm, or sleek and useless once the temperature drops. Wide toe boxes are rare in this category entirely, because most weatherproof lasts are built narrow by default, the same problem we started the Shifter to fix, just in heavier materials.

Built for the season the Shifter can't cover

Warm months, reach for the Shifter. Cold and wet ones, the Trekker Wide picks up exactly where it leaves off, same fit philosophy, different weather entirely.
