Hemp is a long lasting material that has been used since 8000bc. It was used to build ropes, ship sails and even some of Ford's cars, and that is why we use it to build our hemp wallets.
Hemp is also very ecological:
- it consumes 5x less water than cotton
- It restores the nutrients in the soil
- it needs not fertilizers to grow
- it captures CO2 from the atmosphere
By making wallets with hemp we are not only making quality products, we are also helping the enviroment.
Hemp is a fiber that has been used for milenniums. Ancient Egyptians used it to make rope, textiles, fine linen, and sails.
Unlike cotton, Hemp has long fibers, which brings a big edge in durability when making fabrics. For that reason, hemp is in many ways the strongest natural fiber available, and our hemp wallets are also very durable.
According to the hemp foundation, hemp can be even stronger than steel.
Our hemp wallets are made from premium hemp fibers and we recommend washing them dry using warm water, soap and a kitchen scrub. You can machine wash them but we don't recommend as it might damage some of the bag's parts and harm its RFID protection.
Each hemp wallet has a period of 60 days be returned or exchanged. It must be in the original packaging. The 8000Kicks reserves the right to ask for pictures to confirm the product is in the same condition as when it was sent.

Hemp is the sober cousin of marijuana, which means that it has no psychoactive components, less than 0.3% THC, so you are definitely not getting high. Now seriously, please note that smoking the shoe is not a good idea and it might get you hospitalized.
My skinny hemp wallet was actually 8000kicks.com's first ever display/prototype model, sent to me from Germany before they even began full production. They sent it to me after I preordered the wallet before they released it. The promised release date came and went multiple times with very few wallets produced. Frustrated, I continually bugged them until they sent me their display model, the only model had even produced up until that point. I promised the kind lady relinquishing the item to me that I would do the product proud. This was YEARS ago
I'm really glad they did though because this has been the only wallet I've owned and carried daily since then. The hemp itself has withstood the test of time remarkably. It is the 'green' model, which is really just a darker tan. It's faded over time, and there's some minor fraying on the edges.
The only real issue that's developed over the years is that the interior lining has become unstitched from the hemp, this can occasionally cause issues taking cards in and out of the pocket as the lining gets in the way. I'll try to share this in a picture.
Other than that, this wallet has been incredibly durable and reliable. It's not very forgiving with the number of cards you can stuff in, about two in each pocket and a couple in the cash pocket if need be, other than that you'll be overstuffed and sitting on a brick like any other wallet. You also won't be carrying wads of cash in this thing.
It is exactly what 8000 kicks says it is, a thin, lightweight, EXTREMELY durable, sustainable, minimalist hemp wallet, and it isn't trying to be anything else.
I'm definitely going to buy another one.
