8000Kicks are made from industrial hemp, a Sativa branch, known as the sober cousin of marijuana
Industrial hemp has been used since 8000 BC, and it's properties include being anti bacterial, needing no fertilizers and almost no water to grow, it cleans and restaures the nutrients in the soil, and it is also very durable. In fact, Hemp is so strong that Henry Ford even built a car out of it.

Although possible, we don't suggest machine washing as it might compromise the waterproofing and damage the fabric's ability to repel liquids and dust. Instead, hand wash them with warm water and soap.

Hemp is naturally anti bacterial and anti microbial, and our weaving is very porous, which means more breathability and less smells on your feet.
Hemp is also temperature regulating, making this the perfect for every season of the year.
Anti-slip recycled sole
The bottom pattern has been designed to improve traction with groves from side to side to prevent water from getting trapped underneath.
Our soles are made of both recycled and natural rubber, making them not only more grippy but also more durable.
Our soles are also zero-drop for the best comfort all day long.
Water repellent hemp
Rain or slush down the road? Our hemp kicks are ready for it.
We developed a proprietary wax coating that protects the fabric and its properties from stains, liquids and dust particles. This will make the fabric very easy to clean as well.

Manufacturing a pair of running shoes emits around 14kg of CO2 to the atmosphere, while a pair of leather shoes can reach up to 100Kg, that's like flying across the US.

What if the shoe doesn't fit? Exchanges & returns?
We want to get you in a pair that fit right, and that you love wearing. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, contact us within 60 days of receiving your 8000Kicks to arrange for a replacement, exchange, or refund. Footwear must be in new condition, with no signs of wear, and in original packaging. All returns require a return authorization from 8000Kicks Customer Service. We reserve the right to require a photo of the footwear.

We currently fulfil our orders from Mira Loma, in California, and from Lisbon, Portugal. Standard shipping times vary:

Is it really water repellent?
Our shoes have two layers of protection:
1- A coating that repels liquids and dust from coming in.
2- A membrane that keeps water out.
This means that our kicks work under rain and puddles. However, water might still get in from the ankle and the shoelaces area, specially under heavy rains or if completely submerged.

Is the seeker 100% hemp?
The Seeker is not 100% hemp, as there are other materials in the mix, including a recycled polyester lining inside, a inner waterproof membrane, a rubber sole and a silicon injected logo.
The packaging is also made of recycled cardboard.

Is there a warranty? Are they durable?
Unfortunately we don't have a warranty because shoes are subject to maximum wear and tear. However, from our experiences both our hemp and our soles have performed very well on our "torture" tests and we can confidently say that they are stronger than any branded sneakers in the same price range. We also tested over 10 types of different glues to find a perfect fit that would survive under the harshest conditions.
However, if for some accident or problem our shoes do not perform as expected, please contact us and we can deal with it and issue a replacement pair if necessary.

Can I take this on a flight? Will police dogs come after me?
8000Kicks are 100% legal everywhere in the world. Our team has traveled to Italy, France, USA, Canada, Morocco, Portugal and many other countries without any issues. Hemp is the sober cousin of marijuana, which means that it has no psychoactive components, less than 0.3% THC, definitely not a drug. In some countries it is illegal to cultivate hemp, but it is 100% legal to buy and sell finished hemp products like soap, paper and apparel as long as it is produced abroad.

Can I smoke the shoe?

Hemp is the sober cousin of marijuana, which means that it has no psychoactive components, less than 0.3% THC, so you are definitely not getting high. Now seriously, please note that smoking the shoe is not a good idea and it might get you hospitalized.

I love hemp, and I love brands like 8000 kicks who take hemp and make something great like these pair of shoes!
I liked how these brown seeker shoes looked from the day they arrived, but the real test was how they would hold up as daily driver shoes. I decided to take them as my only pair of shoes on week long trip to London, where I walked 15kms each day and wore them for around 14 hours every day. I usually don't travel with new shoes because they need wearing in. But these shoes, oh my god! they were super comfy throughout! - and not once did my feet hurt because of them. Moreover, they could easily take the rainy wet London weather and they looked great with anything I wore. I highly highly recommend them!! Can't wait to try the Hemp Chelsea boots that I ordered!! Thank you 8000 kicks, I hope you grow big and take the hemp material to new levels.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to shoes, but I was getting tired of buying the same pair of shoes every year because of how cheaply they're made to break down. After looking around a bit for some "healthier" shoes, I kept coming back to 8000Kicks as I just loved the idea of a hemp shoe; in my experience, hemp is an amazing fabric. I feel like I had to at least give them a try, and I'm glad I did because so far they've been great.
I haven't been able to test their water/stain resistance'ness, but otherwise they're super comfy and I really like the zero-drop benefits, I could really tell the difference between my last shoe. I haven't owned a sneaker in awhile, they usually feel too constricting for me but I haven't been bothered the same way by this shoe (it's taken a little bit for me to get readjusted to a sneaker). Packaging was *chefs kiss* 🤌 and now I really wanna try out the slip-on's, I'm very impressed I hope 8000Kicks keeps up the great work because it shows.

One night, after a few beers and joints with the boys, someone came up with the idea of making a shoe for smoking. It was a 5-in-morning-kind-of-idea, or maybe not.
Bernardo, the co-founder, asked the most unlikely person for help: Otilia, his grandmother, with over 50 years’ experience in textiles. Together, they spent over 1 year actively working with suppliers from around the world until what is now the World’s 1st waterproof hemp shoe.
